Hey guy's! Just mounted my new tires I got the other day. $400 from a guy out in no-where. 90% tread! They run about $500 a peice new! I got the 38.5x14.50x16 Maxxis Creepy crawlers. They're 38.8 aired up so close enough to 39's for me.
I used the air soft bee bee's to balance these tires, Not one wheel weight. I used 3,000 of them per tire. They ride excellent! Not bad for a Bias! I couldnt be happier. Sounds kinda funny driving slow as the little things ping against the wheel sounding like rain in it.
Anyone run these tires? I can't find any mileage life for these. Not that Im worried for $400 bucks but I was curious. Check out the pictures!
Also got new 14" bilstien 5150's. rides amazing! and has a detroit in the rear end now . Can break those tires loose on the pavement and no wheel hop! Enjoy...
Thats my 1990 F350 with 10" of lift, 39'', my buddies 69 F250 9" lift and 35" Boggers!

I am really curious about how u balanced ur tires with the air soft bb pellets? I have never heard of this method before.
I hadnt really heard much about it either, but crusin around google people have been doing this. Its like Dyna beads, or actually BB's, of the powder equal.
The chart has tire size to amount of weight in air soft BB's to put in. When your mounting the tire, get one bead on and put them in, put the last bead on and your done. I went with the air soft because they are plastic, water proof, and wont break down over time.
check this out, air soft bb's are .12 grams per BB, and I found my tire size on the chart...... it says 12 ounces is needed.
I used 3000 bbs per tire, so 3000 x .12 grams = 360 grams, so that means 12.6 ounces. Little heavier than what it suggest but it doesnt hurt. Just use google and it'll have a fancy calculator like this... GourmetSleuth - Gram Conversion Calculator
Overall Im very happy with the results. I did 70 on the freeway and they ride smooth.

OK cool thats awesome and sounds alot better than mangling the rims or loosing the weights 4wheelin. I think i will have to try that with my next set of tires. Thanks for the info, and the tires were a sweet deal.
Depends how you drive. I have a pretty heavy foot. My swampers lasted about ten seconds with my tendency to burn-rubber. :P
I am not sure how much anti-freeze to use exactly, not a fine art calculating it like the BB's. My dad gave me the idea, he uses it to balance semi-truck tires.
So I just shot a few syringes in the valve core and it works really well. Except for my heavily chunked front left tire. But its a used craigslist tire, what can you expect?

Ive never heard of using airsoft BB's. I guess i couldnt see why it wouldnt work, but those are expensive arent they? especially 3000 per tire.....
Next time, Go get yourself some fine sand and use about 1-2 lbs per tire. Same concept as the "sand bags" for semi's that they charge $14 each.
I used 2 lbs in my 44's and they balanced awsome. I can cruise at 65-70 mph and be smooth as glass....atleast as close to glass as a bogger can be. Best thing is you can go to the beach and get it for free. Or go to home depot and get a sand bag, which is what I used.
Back on topic... cant beat those for $400. The truck looks good.

Water freezes buddy. Don't want some big ol' ice chunks in your tires do ya? I don't know about where your at, but most of the year in washington we hit freezing temperatures. Summer time is our break.

HA i have been looking for ways to balance my tires without weights! never though of antifreeze...i was thinking sand but i like the bbs or antifreeze idea better, no cost installation, i like that since my tires are $400 a piece and my rims are $150 a piece

Anyone have a general idea of how much antifreeze they would use on a 39.5X18X16.5? Are we talking around a pint a tire or close to a gallon?
It doesn't take much. I used 5 large syringes full in each tire. Couldn't tell you how big they are off the top of my head. But they balanced out really well.
(Except for the chunked tire, which wobbles but doesn't shake too bad.)
