Why do you own your Ford diesel truck?

I wish I knew how to do a poll. I'd like to know how many of you own your trucks because you like Ford vs the fact that it has an International engine.

Would you like it if it had a Duramax engine?

I'd be willing to bet there are more Ford owners that like their trucks for the truck than there are who like them for the engine. (I'm not bashing the engine, I've had several and had good luck with them)

I'd also bet there are more Dodge/Cummins truck owners who own them for the engine, not the truck. (Again, not bashing Dodge, they build a good truck)

I like Ford because they are WAY HEAVY DUTY. 3,500 pounds of bricks in 79 F150 it held no problem.

for diesel I like 6.0L I have drive 2006 F250 it way POWERFUL than 7.3L in 95 F350 dump bed.

I have drive gm I say it not heavy duty it squash easy when lift snowplow.

Dodge I have drive I say HORRIBLE seat it feel like you sit on Hard Plastic seat.

Ford because I can overload it, They made it for towing, heavier frame, suspension. My Dad had a Ford too.

I have had all three, Dodge way underpowered and GM is a car.

for towing our horse trailer

we have our 05 F350 KR PSD for towing our three horses: we don't tow much in the winter, but for the past few months we have been towing 1-2 times week. We usually tow between 7.5K and 9K lbs depending if we go with 2 or 3 horses (wife somehow needs to be bring her 2 horses when we go cattle sorting). We also use the truck to haul stuff, our dogs (we have a shell) and take our friends to the mountains

My wife family will only own Ford trucks/cars....so the SD was an easy choice: she started with a 95 ranger, then an 03 Sporttrac(new), 05 F150(new) and later the F350(used) which we are planning on keeping for a lonf long time

I think they are the best trucks on the road. I hunt and haul my own water so a truck is a must, but also have 4 kids so need the room. I put my bronco together the way Ford should have and used the idi because they are great engines and it is what Ford used. If they had used cat or cummins or detriot for that matter I would have used one of those instead. I am and will always be true Blue oval ford.

I wanted a fullsize diesel for the longest time, came across my truck, liked the truck, liked the price so I bought it.

Recently I've been having second thoughts and wondering if I should have just spent a bit more and bought a powerstroke....ah well.

I chose Ford because Chev has IFS 4x4 and Dodge has a cheap poorly made interior. International meant nothing to me. I own an SD because I tow a travel trailer, and the F150 has become a weak off-road performer. Also because you can't avoid IFS 4x4 in any of the half ton class.

I had always been a Chevy guy. I did not like ford due to the interior of the older trucks; looked cheap to me. I did not haul much due to in school during my first cars/trucks. I had wanted a Tahoe in school so when I could first afford a new car I bought one 2001 Chevy Tahoe 4x4 LT and loved it; the next year I bought a 2002 Silverado and was also very pleased. Recently I had noticed that the ford interior had improved substantionally since the 80's and 90's compared to chevy. I had always heard good things about ford's powerstroke trucks. I turned over my Silverado to my dad about 4yrs ago since he was looking to get a truck and my job provided me with a vehicle. This year my Tahoe had 160K+ miles on it and since vehicle sales had dropped it was a good time for me to buy. More leverage on neg. My Tahoe sold 2 days after posting on Craiglist. I liked the way the new superduty looked and went to test drive one. Needless to say that I could not let go of the King Ranch. I had wanted a diesel and heard powerstroke was the way to go. I don't haul much and my wife uses the truck as a daily driver since I have a work truck provided to me. But now if I have to haul anything I now I have plenty of truck for it.

Die hard Chevy owner here until GM killed the truck with IFS in the front, been Ford ever since and not looking back. I did look over Dodge/Cummins until I realized they were all built in Mexico.

Have always owned Fords. Always wanted a diesel too. When it came time to trade my '99 Ford Explorer 5.0L, I started looking at 3/4 ton diesels. Personally, I liked the exterior and build of the Ford better than the others. My 2nd choice was the Dodge. I got a deal on the F250 that I just couldn't pass up. This is my first diesel and I'm loving it!!
I also liked the fact that Ford put real tow mirrors w/ large convex mirrors on their trucks.
I'm not knocking any other trucks, but just stating my personal preferences.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that doesn't like IFS. Bad, bad, trend in trucks today.
