1990 ford ranger automatic transmission repair help needed

I have a 1990 ranger, I dropped the pan to do a fluid and filter, I loosed a bolt on the drivers side of the transmission and I heard something fall into the transmission. I came to find out what it was but I can't get it out of the transmission and if I did I don't know exactly how it is supposed to go back in. I have looked in the chilton's manual but unfortunately it has every overhaul in it except the automatic tranny. Can anyone help me on this?????

you probably dropped whats called a band strut. Any local trans shop should be able to quickly put it back in place
