It's 9.5 hours for me but I am willing to make the trip to gain insight on this install... just don't want to come when there is 2 feet of snow on the ground! LOL!

Any reason to think this wouldn't work on an 08 F250?

I think the costs are reasonable, especially versus replacing the truck as mentioned before.

How long have you had this setup on your truck? Have you towed with this yet?

I know there is always some risk to mods, but does this seem like a high risk mod for reliability in anyone's opinion?

It will no doubt have an affect on the life of the engine and transmission, shure won't make either last longer.

I think that the Torqshift transmission will hold up just fine considering that it is rated up to 1,100 TQ. The engine is another matter... If you stay with the minimum 8psi, then it should last an estimated 75%-80% of its service life. If you increase to 10psi-12psi, then it should last an estimated 50%-75% of its service life. A lot depends on how hard you drive the truck. Of course, it would great to install forged components (crankshaft, rods, & pistons) with the supercharger but that's another $4,000-$5,000.

I have been running this system cense April 09, Be for this setup I installed and a Vortech system 3000 rpm an up it worked good. But the noise it made was too much and power in the 1500 to 2500 rpm sucked. Most of my towing was in the 2000 to 2500 rpm range.
So I installed the whipple and the power band is just outstanding. I have towed my fifth wheel to southern Ohio and to eastern Ohio and its weight is 7652 lbs the total est. weight with all the stuff is 9300 to 9500 lbs and with 1/2 the effort.
I can keep it in 5th gear 2200 rpm at 3lbs boost and hold 60 mph up a hill.
The same hill with out the whipple is like 4th gear 3200 rpm.
Matt ran the dyno computer setting at the truck weight plus 800 lbs. and 6000 lbs.
Matt and I have been run different setting and got it working very well at this time. Just recently I have changed the pulley size to lower the boost form 8.5 lbs to 7 lbs to put a little less strain on the engine. After driving it for a mouth now I can’t fill the difference.
I ‘m going back to the dyno the first of Feb to check out the system before I go to Venice FL . Also with No Trailer I just barely push on the gas paddle I’m going 50 mph. And my gas mpg has gone up 2 to 3 mpg. (( But it is very hard to keep your foot out of it.)) You will be going 70 to 80 very easy.

Twinscrew supercharger

I sure wish I coud fit one of those on my '97 460 efi. Has anyone seen it done on an efi engine. I saw a post on here or 460Ford.com where a guy used a bds lower intake on a carbed 460 and fabbed a plate and put a twinscrew on it. cant remeber what make. I've been lookin for a Kennebelle blower to put on my '97 F250 for about 6 or 7 years now. I havent even found so much as a picture. I would love to know if anyone has ever seen one. I talked to them one time and you would have thought I spit in the guys cheerios when i went to asking about it. He did say they used to make one, but i guess it was short lived like the V10 verison. I always did figure the centrifugals were junk for everday driving. I decided if I couldnt find a KB for my truck I might get a turbo setup from STS in Utah. My truck is a daily driver and work truck. The most I pull is our 24ft stock trialer, prob around 12-13,000# loaded. I have done a lot to the engine do play around a little, but it nerve goes to the track or anything like that. The last dyno was 280 hp and 420 ft/lbs at the wheels. I still havent conv. it to MAF and i also have a set of ported/polished F3TE heads w/ 2.19/1.76 valves. That blower does look sweet in those pics, nice job.

So, did you do the install yourself or did you have Matt do the install? Is there a comprehensive parts list? I checked Whipple's website and the M-6066-F104 is designed for the 2004 F150 5.4L truck. How did you know to use that supercharger as opposed to the M-6066-F105 designed for the 2005-2006 F150 5.4L truck? You stated that you lowered the boost from 8.5psi to 7psi. Do you have the new dyno numbers or will those will available in February?

I installed it myself it was not that difficult for me, I have been working on engines for racing for some 20 years. I would think Matt could do it you will have to call him and ask him. I called Michael Malicoat at whipple 559-442-1261 and he e-mailed me the parts list for the F150/ Expedition Supercharger System ( R10 ) pdf file . Also he told me the big difference in the 04 to the 05 is new brackets and wiring to relocate the fuse panel in the f-150 and some other tings I don’t need for what I doing. But I will need the F-150 Fuel transducer relocation kit . The new dyno numbers will be available in February.<O</O
Oh one other thing YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DRAIN ANY WATER OR ANNTIFREEZE OUT. You don’t have to remove the water cross over or stat.

I'll give Michael Malicoat a call for the parts list. Thanks Butch!

BMOHIO, I am 30 mins. from you, in Vermilion. You mentioned you raced. Drag or Roundy Round? I just got back into racing after a many year hiatus. 69 Cougar drag car.

I really don't have plans for a supercharger for my truck, but would love to check yours out anyhow.

I may have to set some money aside and install one of these when I come home from working out here in Stanland.

Can Matt also play with the transmission map to change the shift points and converter lockup to take advantage of the abundance of low end torque while towing?

This is exactly why turbodiesel trucks have the illusion of having a far superior towing powerplant.
