Whipple Supercharger for 5.4L Super Duty

Problem with a single turbo like the STS system is you basically don't start building boost until your at around 3k rpm. With a roots type supercharger your making boost off idle so the power is there right away. The STS system looks kinda half assed too IMO. For the trucks you mount it under the bed between the frame rails. That system wouldn't last long if you use it as a truck with mud, dirt and water thrown up there. You'd have to make up some kind of airbox to mount the filter in or cut a hole in the bed for an airbox.

Ha! Don't feel bad... I just woke up and on my 2nd cup of coffee. I've been working 3rd shift for the past two months and it's getting to me. I'll be fully functional after my 3rd cup of coffee, I promise!

OK, this is pretty simple. It isn't a whipple style, but you won't have to do much fabricating and engineering.
First, find someone that will write you a tune for your engine that will support a supercharger.
Second, order this kit from Ford:
http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...tKeyField=9358
Toss out their tune for the F-150 (and transmission) and install your custom tune along with this kit.
Third, fill up with 93 octane fuel and light up the rear tires.
Note that they also have a kit for 2V engines.

Whipple Industries makes the supercharger kit for Ford Racing... note that "Whipple" in labeled on the supercharger. Also, Whipple website even states this in their description of the supercharger. The Ford Racing kit does have a lower retail price than the Whipple kit. I have asked Mike at 5 Star Tuning if he would be willing to what you have recommended and he is willing to consider it but warned that it may be expensive.
