gas pedal/throttle sticking

gas pedal/throttle sticking
Hi, My 2000 f150, 5.4L, SC, 4x4 offroad has a sticky gas pedal. Usually after it sits for a while, I start it, put it in gear, and the pedal sticks. I just can't ease along from a dead stop. It requires a short jab with my foot to overcome the stickiness which causes it to lurch forward. As long as I'm driving it doesn't do it again such as at stop signs and lights. Nothing is blocking the pedal and I have sprayed the cable linkage up on the engine with carb cleaner, wd40, and a silicon lube. No help so far. Any ideas? thanks.

my expedition did something similar, after comming off the freeway my truck was accelerated and it only went down after more driving on the city.
What I did to fix this was took the trotle body off the engine and ckleanned it with carb cleanner, I left it with no black stuff (carbon deposits) on it and it did the job.
worth a try...

You dont have to go as far as cuaco-ortiz say's.
Go to the parts store and get THROTTLE BODY cleaner and take the pipe off the throttle body, push the butterfly open and you will see black pastee crap in there. That is what you want to clean off/out of there. It is from the low grade of gas that we now unwilling buy.
If you do take the TB off you can also clean the egr ports which become clogged and cause egr codes with carbon.
That is the only difference
