Truck shaking while accelerating through turns... a little help

Hey guys,

Might sound like a dumb question to some of you but hopefully that means it'll be easier for someone to help me figure out the cause..

I've got a 2002 Reg Cab F250, 7.3L...

When I go around turns and accelerate, the steering wheel shakes pretty hard and steering is difficult. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

It just started happening....

Ball Joints? hmmmm

Thanks!

Ok don't mean to insult you but I always start with the easy stuff. Is the truck accidentally in 4 wheel drive and your indicator light is not working. Or did someone play with the hubs and turn one without the other. Have you looked at the power steering pump to see if is functioning properly.

HI,

Not insulted, thanks for the response.

Never had an issue the power steering, fluid levels are good.

Hubs are open, definitely in 2wd.

What's next?

Ok so you said you felt in the steering and not the whole truck. So rear transfer case seems unlikely. Could be the ball joints but I always thought they made the steering feel sloppy along with the shake. I had a brake caliper become loose. And it would slop over and rub that the only reason I noticed it. Yours might be slipping over when you turn a corner. They would make a noise but sometimes over diesel may not be noticeable. You may want to have someone turn a corner with you outside the truck to listen for a noise. Or just jack up the truck and spin the tire.
