i see front coils? F-250 and up have leaf springs up front, how can this be a F-250? if anything its a F-150 or F-100, which had front coil springs,
now i don't know this truck, i am just going by the picture and it shows front coil springs, doesn't anyone else see it? also i am sure Todds79 can straighten things out, maybe i am not seeing the picture right? the lugs are telling me its a F-250 and up (F-100/F-150 have 5 lugs), but why is there coil springs? maybe a conversion? or is it a shock?
also let me say it is one fine ride, dentsides rule! so correct me, i like learning new things!

Good catch Brent!
I explained the reason earlier, and also in the 73-79 forum, but for those that don't know--
Ford never made an F250 4wd with coil springs on the front.
The PO owned a custom machine shop and wanted a 4wd crew. He took this crew, added a front Dana 60 axle from a 95 E350 4wd van (which has coils), put a Dana 24 tranfer case in the middle, added a new steering box in front of the engine crossmember and --you now have a 4wd F250 with coil springs.
When I bought the truck, I wasn't happy with some of the fab work, so I boxed the frame and added more crossmembers. Threw on some paint and wheels, and this is what comes out!
Rebuild pics in my gallery-- tells the whole story.

Thats so cool!
You really have a beautiful truck there Todd.

Watch all of the byplay and take notes - you want to jump in at the front end and RUN WITH THE BALL!
And TODD - that machine of yours is a brilliant example of someone knowing exactly what they wanted and doing whatever had to be done to make it JUST LIKE THAT. I also notice it has dual tanks - that beast is one hella long legged rough going machine...
It sure looks like there is going to be some "HEAD-to-HEAD" domination action going on this round!!!
Thanks Greywolf--
This truck started with dual tanks, although one was an in cab. Removed and put a Bronco II tank in the rear. It needs two tanks with the mileage it gets--didn't build it for economy!
Spread the word, SCATTER the word, do what you gotta do - explore the options
It just won't happen by sitting on your can watchin' the monitor screen....
RAISE HELL!

THIS is a SHOOTOUT! Do whatever you can get away with....
*Yeah - I know. There are a lot of heavyweights. Look at all the chapter leaders that jumped into this... (Like it wasn't going to happen that way?) But chap leads are not the only ones with wild AXED wheels. The best rides are the hide-outs that we seldom hear from.
You know what I want in my deepest heart? I want this thing to become totally NOTORIOUS - so that it is heard of everywhere and the real HARDCORE modifiers dive in
You see the timer at the top of the poll, don't you? 6-30-2009 at 6:25. The next shot at it is RIGHT THEN!
The 76 Crew Cab should clearly be the front runner. All the newer trucks are posers...they may be newer and look nice now, but lets see how they look in say 33 years.

Wow, he's a real winner. Most of the guys on FTE are good guys, but then we get boy's like him. I see he's a fairly new user; hopefully he will switch to a Chebby and move on to the Chebby forums.

I would say my truck has served her time with dignity and honor by providing loyal service and always willing to start and work hard. Fifteen years, 213,000 miles.
Don't insult my truck.
Oh and by the way, there's a reason those older 70's look so nice; SOMEONE REBUILT THEM. 33 years from now my truck will be 48 years old, and I have one of the newer trucks here. Do you ever think before you type? LOL.
