Some years ago I used a piece of steel brake line to replace the choke heat tube. They tend to corrode off right at the point where they exit the manifold.

Can anyone tell me what year ford started putting the EGR system on The 300 six in a F150?

1975, in F-series trucks with the 240 and 300 six. About the same year as the crossover from points ignition to DuraSpark electronic, if I'm not mistaken.
