I know their are multiple threads on this subject already and I am sorry. I want a beater truck and I've considered a Expy for a little while now, and I wanna put a S/C on it, I noticed the Lightning and Expy share the same 5.4L 2V SOHC Motor. If I get just the brackets for the stock S/C can I use that to put a KB on it. Would I be chancing the stock internals?
Does the Lightning/Harley Use different internals? If I had to I will upgrade the Pistons and connecting rods. I am just planning to use this as a DD with some power to it. I plan to buy either a Cobra CTS-V or a STI as a toy so I don't plan to DD the car whichever I decide but I want to tow it to the track as well. But if i am not driving that car I want to be able to still play on the street.
Also I want to do the 03-04 Lightning/Harley Front End conversion with the rear bumper as well, will the side skits fit as well? eventually I will get the Wheels' from what I priced out from that Guy Mike Dunn it will be about 1700 not to bad. a hell of a lot cheaper then the Lightning or Harley truck itself.
Who Know's maybe I decide to get an actual Lightning one day down the road.
As I was reading the wikipedia, I noticed they mention the Lightning Tranny 4R100 for the expedition as well? I am assuming it came with this trans one year. Obviously I am gonna go with lower gears probably the ones that were in the Lightning to begin with. would this trans bolt up to 4WD or would it be benefical to keep 2WD and get 3.73 Gears or something Comprable. suggestions and comments are welcome sorry for the long post.
I don't see why it wouldn't work, however having not done this swap myself or know of someone personally who has, I decided not to guess and potentially make your life miserable if it doesn't fit.
