I went through a local dealer to pick up a SCT tuner, I thought he had ordered the X3 but found out today it's the SF3, is this a mistake? I haven't taken delivery yet but have put half down on the tuner. The dealer is claiming he'd have to put my truck on the dyno to custom tune my truck with the x3, is this true? I was thinkin it came with three custom tunes or is this just through 5 star. Should I cancel?
$379. From what I'm reading Mike at 5 Star has some custom tunes to choose from, I'm thinkin I should of went this route. Absolute Performance is the shop I went through it's about a mile from where I live, the thinking was local support.

Definitely get with Mike and get custom tunes. It does make a difference on economy and power. Mike indicated to me that the generic tunes are not much in the way of change.
The worst case is you have to buy the tuner, this particular tuner can hold 6 tunes. You can apply the money you saved and purchase 3 custom tunes from 5 Star.
