Glasspack? (cutting exhaust?)

one of my friends is trying to talk me into cutting my exhaust and putting a glasspack on it?

he had it on his truck at one point so he knows what he's doing, but what exactly will this do/ how hard a job is it?

Glasspacks are among the most restrictive types of mufflers. They have aggressive louvers on that protrude into the exhaust stream and create enormous amounts of turbulence, which in turn creates backpressure. So yes, they are loud, but they are not the best choices for performance. They are more of a poor mans muffler. If I were you, I would get a real muffler.

Back in the day, we used to pour gasoline in the glasspacks and burn them out to get that deep rumbling sound.

Toss a set of two chamber FlowMasters on there.That would give you a nice rumble without a raspy sound.

Don't run a muffler at all, Ford's are the perfect sound with the cats only with y-pipe and dual tailpipes IMO.
