I wana say its 50 hp if you got custom tunes. Not for sure what it is. From take off its alot quicker. Its hard not to go full throttle from every stop. Performance mode is really touchy on the throttle. Just tap the gas and it jerks you back in the seat. From 60 it has alot more power then what it is stock to pass. I would recomend it. Probably the best money I have spent in a while.

I'm running the SCT X3 with 87 economy tune, 87 tow tune, and 91 octane tow tune. Towing with the 91 tow tune I improved my fuel mileage by a full 1 mpg and the trans didn't hunt gears much at all. I towed on the same road and close to the same conditions that I last towed stock. I'm running the 87 tow tune right now. It shifts better, better throttle response, and I hope also better fuel economy. I'll know in a few days. Forced to drive the truck every day now because I have to change out a rusted out sub frame on the old beater Taurus. I'm determined to get over 200,000 miles out of that beast before it gets scrapped out. I'll run it until the trans goes.

How do those of you with the different octane levels manage that? do you have to get the tank near empty in order to put it back up to the 91? I ordered mine and i got 91 octane econ, tow, and perf. I cant wait to try it out. Do i need to take it easy when i first get it, or even after i have had it for awhile? Can i get into my pickup as much with that programmer as i used to without it? Also, its only $5 a tank difference for premium and if i quit getting a bottle of pop and candy bar as often as i do then i will easily make up the difference.

I was easy at first on mine. Just so the computer was getting use to the changes. They say about after 10 times your truck is use to it but Im not for sure on if thats true or not. You can drive you did before you will just have more power. Whenever I switch from 87 to 91 octane I try to get the tank close to E. A few times I switched over when I still had a 1/4 tank left. But congrats on the new programmer. You will love it. You get it from 5star?

Yes Sir, per your suggestions and praise of them. I want to enjoy it but I just have the fear of tearing something up(engine, tranny, etc.). What do you mean by ten times? i got 91 across the board just so i wouldnt have to worry about that as much.

I havent tore anything up on mine and I havent been exactly light on the gas and had it on for about 30000 miles between towing driving hard in performance and economy driving. Someone mentioned on here before that it takes like 10 times of starting and driving your truck to understand the new parameters from the programmer. Im not sure if its 10 or if its less to be sure though.

If you run down to 1/4 tank and put in 93 octane you won't have any problems with a 91 octane tune. From there on you should be good to go. I wanted an 87 octane tow tune just in case I couldn't get any 91 or 93 octane gas on the road. So far everything is working out well.

Just out of curiosity, have any of you lined up your pickups against anything to find out how quick it was?

I got an SCT a few weeks ago and have tried 87 tow, 87 econ, 87 performance and 93 performance. I drove the truck from central WV to Washington DC over the 4th of July on 93 performance and the onboard mpg computer stated 21.6 mpg's when I arrived. It was hand verifired by 21.2. I came back (FAST) on 87 econ and got 19.8. My truck performs the best on 87 performance, as it acutally seems to acclerate faster on 87 perf than on 93 perf. I no it shouldn't be so, but my wife even drove and stated that it had a lot better throttle repsonse on 87 performance. This was the best money I've spent so far on my truck

Ya driving with 87 econ I get better gas mileage if Im on the gas hard compared to taking it easy. Dont know how that works but its been working for me. I wish I wasnt laid off so I could throw some 91 octane in it.
