I think he is talking about the color of the truck not the eng/tranny. That truck looks great, are you for hire? Its a bit of a drive but its hard to find a decent body guy that won't set a guy back $20K around here.

Still dreaming about money...and waiting for the project$ to $pend it on...
I may be wrong but i dont think they put those type covers on a 351m/400. I could be wrong but the couple dozen ive had never had those.
My 1979 F150 4x4 custom explorer w/ 351M has exactly those valve covers. I just painted mine. I still had a engine decal on mine. I went with semi gloss black this time instead of Ford Blue or Chrome. I like the look. Looks alot better than surface rust LOL.

O. It was late last night when i got home. Not thinking totally straight.
As for being for hire? Yeah. I just have to finish this job first.
Got the engine in and accessories all cleaned and detailed. Hopefully the Cab goes on today
I don't know what year they stopped but I believe 79's only had Ford stamped on them, not powered by Ford.
I know that my 79 300 has Powered by Ford on it.
great job on the work dude.

Just in case I win the lotto what would it cost to have a truck done like this one, assuming the cab isn't shot and a good bed is provided? No really too serious at the moment but if work ever picks back up I can get it there.

Been a not so productive week this week. Had to help a friend pull the cab off his 04 f350 6.0 to do head, gaskets, studs,EGR delete and such, then set the cab back on.
Well got enough of the harness in to start it and move it. Sand blasted the inner fenders, rad support, hood hinges and various other pieces yesterday. Got the rad support and couple other pieces painted this am. Did the inner fenders last night.
WOW Great work! If you are looking for more work let me know, I am over in Altoona, PA. Every place i take my truck around here to get the body work done asks me why I would want to spend money on that old truck and sends me on my way.I just have to sit back and laugh, if they only new the following these "old trucks" have. By the way is everyone meeting up at the all truck nats in Carlise this year?
