Cabinet blaster sand

Does anyone know if Black Magnum is Silica based sand ? I'm wondering if I could run it in my bead blaster safely. I don't want anything Silica based in it.

PupnDuck is starting off with a positive reputation.
According to the MSDS, Black Magnum is coal slag based blast media and contains less than 0.1% silica. It is classified a a nusiance dust and requires no more than a dust mask for handling. Looks OK to me.

Well I got 25# of it in coarse, didn't look like much. I wouldn't buy it any finer grit for general blasting. Seems to work good. We'll see how long it lasts, it's dirt cheep. Hope it doesn't plug up the vacuum filter bad.
