FTE Anniversary and a chance to ask Ford!
FTE will soon be celebrating its 3rd Anniversary as a web site. (It was just a mailing list prior to that).
We have several things planned for this. Among them is an opportunity for you, the FTE user, to have your questions answered by Bob Masone, F150 Product Manger for Ford Motor Company!
Post the question(s) you would like to have asked, and we'll hash them out here. I'm going to present 5-10 questions to Bob in an interview and post the transcripts on the web site
and to the mailing lists.
There are a few minor guidelines....
1. No questions about unannounced future products.
2. Keep in mind that this isn't a mechanic's chit-chat.
3. It may be best to use this as an opportunity to discuss Ford's involvement with the enthusiast community.

Actually only 1:
What intention does Ford have in the short term (i.e. this body style, not the 2003 model) of fixing the body integrity problems being experienced by a MAJORITY of owners? Specifically, door cracks, roof cracks, and premature rusting out of door bottoms? We are tired of being stonewalled and want a straight answer.

Why are some dealers replacing the doors when they
crack, and some dealers are saying there is nothing
they can do? This issue needs to be resolved!!period. I called a dealer recently and
was told that there was no word from ford yet about
this problem. Why the hold up? I have visited the
the NHTSA web site and added my two cents. I printed the complaints (60 pages!!) and a good 60%
of these were about the door cracks. Please don't
misjudge me, I love the truck!! I just want my doors fixed, please.

to insult you ,but you seem to come off as a
smartass sometimes. this is not meant to ****
you off in any way, please don't take it badly.
I just want to know is going on with this problem that many owners seem to experiencing.
I have been told many things concerning this
issue, from;the dealers are replacing the doors,
to;there is no solution and we can't help you.

final word on the door cracks.....sincerely,

FTE Anniversary and a chance to ask Ford!
Your post labeling my tone won't get me mad. Using inappropriate language can. All walks of life and ages have visited the boards and it would be a good idea to keep that in mind when posting.
The posting date was on the page, you asked me to ask Bob a question when the opportunity to talk to Bob was 7 months ago and I simply said it was too late. Had I ignored the post because its too late, would you have thought I was a jerk? :-( Either I tell the truth and I'm being smart or I ignore it then you'd I don't pay attention to the users. Sort of a loose-loose situation for me. :-( I do the best I can and you can't please 100% of the people 100% of the time.
If you've only been using a computer for 2 months, then you've discovered the major drawback with text---> no easy way to convey emotion. I was in no way being harse, just stating that you're replying to a post where I was asking for feedback and that it is way out of date.
I can't give you anything on Ford's final word. The only info I get from them is press releases. Last I heard, they were still working on an engineering fix and had put out a TSB saying the only solution for now was door replacement. Any dealer who says there is no TSB to replace the door under warranty is either ignorant or deceptive.

thank you for your answer. I will go back to that
dealer and let them know my disdain for their practices. As for inappropriate language,,the words
that I used are acceptable for prime time TV without a parental notice. Oh, by the way, why not
close the thread if it is seven months old/will
avoid alot of confusion. Guess I will look more
closely next time, jan and jul look very similar
at that size. Later,

Here is the TSB # 996754
As to the language, we registered with http://www.icra.org/, a content rating service used by web browsers. Unfortunately, their definitions are very broad. In their view, its either completely clean or not. Since I want parents to know their child can safely visit here, I registered it as acceptable to all audiences. I figure better safe than sorry.
