Ordered new 2010 F150

Ordered a 2010 F150 Lariat this week. Dark blue pearl metallic with pueblo gold dual tone. Screw, 6.5' bed.
I pretty much got every option except the chrome package. I hate the 20" chrome wheels (got the 6 spoke machine aluminum 20"ers instead).

Will get better delivery estimate as it gets closer. Current guess is Aug or Sep. I am getting it for cost plus 300, minus all rebates available at time of delivery (a gamble, I know), and military discount. I am also getting all available add ons at my guys price ($75 dollars for tint, wow).

Had to put $500 for deposit. Oh my gosh, now I am getting the "I can't wait that long" bug! You know... after that your daily thoughts and nightly dreams are innundated with the new truck.... desktop pictures are a picture of the one you are getting... blah blah. I digress. Amen.

Edited to add the following: Wow, I forgot the most important thing I was going to mention. I got black leather interior and I am having him change out all of the faux wood trim for the FX4 carbon fiber trim. It will be my frankentruck.

Thanks!

Well, in my research I figured out that the base price for the FX4 was more expensive than the base price of the Lariat, and a fully loaded lariat (minus the chrome package) was only about a grand more than a fully loaded FX4.

I chose the Lariat over the FX4 because with the lariat you get real leather in the back seat (instead of all premium vinyl as in the FX4, a fold down arm rest/cup holder in the back seat of the screw on the lariat, an extra widget in the trip computer thing, and COOLED seats. Since I got the max tow I was able to get the 3.73 rear diff, and the 20" 6 spoke tires I picked are sport tuned like the FX4. The ONLY thing I can find that is different between the one I ordered and the FX4 is the elec locking rear diffy. However, I did get the 4x4 with limited slip so I am not worried about not have the locking diffy as in the FX4.

Looking at the dealers/MSRP prices of the 2010... current pricing actually has the 2010 LESS expensive than the 2009, but only by about 100 bucks or so. But at least it went down!!!!!!

That is going to be a nice truck. I purchased the fx4 with the luxury pack, roof, nav, brake controller, and rear window. Love the features and if there was an option I wish I had it would be ac seats. That has to be sweet.

Is it true that the 36 gallon fuel tank is only a fleet option now and cannot be ordered on a personal truck?

I can tell you now it's the worst wait ever. I ordered mine about this time last year and it was horrible aiting for it. Esp when you think you ordered it early and see others in them before you. Plus mine took 6 months to turn up. Lets hope it goes smoother for you.

not sure how they will be able to do the center radio dash panel considering the Lariat dash panel has those 3 buttons for the info/trip computer, and the FX4 does not.

I don't recall seeing any FX4 changes to that matter in the 2010 order guide.

The thing is, Ford put out a media guide last fall for the 09 F150, and it showed a photo of the FX4 Luxury package interior with the Navigation screen, and it had those 3 computer buttons above the screen (just like the Lariat/KR/Platinum), and I believe even DearbornDerek said the FX4 Luxury pre-production models had it too, but then it never made it to the final 09 production model.

yep. Just like DearbornDerek also said they had pre-production Platinum trucks in that new Blue Flame color, but then that color never made it to the final production.

2010 rebates?

Are there any rebates/incentives on the 2010 that you ordered?

My guy I ordered from said the 36 gallon tank is standard... that's why you can't add it.

Engine is still the 5.4 L, but the order guide says TBD for fuel economy and horsepower/torque which probably means they are going to jack around with it again.

Yes, the wait is going to suck. It already sucks. lol

All the pictures I have seen of the FX4 with luxury package and navigation has the 3 buttons at the top. Does anyone who has these options have something different?

No known incentives or rebates yet other than what I have already mentioned.

I have seen all if not most models (xlt and up) with the 3 button above the navigation or even above the radio when there wasn't a navigation.

Do you have any pictures to prove otherwise? I searched the other sites pictures and fount lots of fx4s and xlts with the three buttons.

EDIT: Oh, you guys see 6 Buttons.. so three extra. Crap. Oh well. Paintjob? We will see. I am a woodworker. I might just have to make inserts out of real wood.
