parts

Who has the best quality 48-52 truck parts? I am looking for seals, maybe interior pieces ect. Any contact info would be appreciated, Macs only covers up to 47, Job lots has mainly mechanical and is not much help for the big trucks, any past experience would be helpfull

Mac's has a catalog for '48-'56, too. LMC Truck probably has what you're looking for, too. I like LMC's prices better but the only time I tried to buy something it wasn't in stock and wouldn't be for longer than I wanted to wait, so I can't vouch for their service.

Wing window frames aren't available at all, AFAIK. Check eBay.

MAC's, Dennis Carpenter, JobLot, Sacramento Vintage Ford, Antique Auto Supply, Obsolete Parts, and many more have parts. Many are offering the same parts so find the dealer closest to you, shipping is a big part of the cost these days.

I called all these vendors today and will try and deal with Hot Rods classic car parts, the woman that answered the phone was very nice and courteous, that goes a long way these days.

Rotsa Ruck!

Those are not in repro and chances are if you do find a set of wings, they will cost you at least $75 PER WINDOW, and that's painted.

I have never seen a set of "Bright Metal" (stainless steel) wings for sale.

I bought a set of wings that were in good condition and it cost me $200 to have them chromed. So, unless you stumble onto something incredible, plan to pay $300 to $400 for those wings with a new shine.

I have a set on th etruck that are chromed and slightly pitted that (I swear) here pretty soon I'm going to take out and replace withthe new ones - just won't have the time until about august.

In the mean time, here's a picture:

PS: add another $50 for glass!

Thanks for the pict. I guess i di dnot explain myself well enough though in that I already do have them inmy truck just in pretty bad shape. Thanks again though for the time.

On another note does anyone know of anyone that is reproducing a set of rear fenders for a 52 Ford. I plan to make a bed from 1/8 steel for my F-7 and would like to have the original look on the rear fenders. Anyone else ever done this before, it would help to get some ideas

I don't believe an F-7 would have had any rear fenders? Would be a box or stake bed body.

Yes I know but I dont like either of those, mine originally had a big water tank all its life on the back of it I am told, I want to put something back there I can use and think it would be neat to build a bed like the smaller versions had but of course lengthened to accomidate the much longer frame, anyone out there ever done this?
