my sons 223 single barrel carb appears to be sucking up floats (it's on its third)
i repaired the first one several times before i replaced it, that one lasted a month and now the second one is full of holes. before the latest replacement also goes,is it possible for there to be something going on that is causing the brass to fail, or is it old age and coincidence.
does anyone out there know of a place to buy these???
does anyone out there have some old holly one bbls that would be willing to raid them for parts???
all i read are you fellas replacing the old sixes with all that horsepower..what do you do with your carbs???
all advice and knowledge would be appreciated
john
Are they rotting holes, imploding, or exploding. The holley should have a vent for the fuel bowl. If that is cloged it could create a vaccum or overpressure in the float bowl.
I belive that your carb is a Holley #1941. Try the carburator shop. Just type it into google. I have bounced odball questions off him and he seems helpful. If not try a carter YFA off a 240 or 300 six ford. They only stoped using them 20 years ago so parts are fairly easy to find.
