Trust me as i did do this, only to find out that it was fall 07 rather than summer 07 and i was stuck with the old design on mine.....
I purchased the truck in Feb. 08 so chances are that I was stuck to but I will have the VIN checked out.
Thx

Note the part in the ISSUE section that says an engine build date prior to 10/29/2007

This was copied from TSB 08-07-06 which is the latest and greatest for the plugs:3-VALVE ENGINE MAY EXPERIENCE DIFFICULTY WITH SPARK PLUG REMOVAL. THIS MAY CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SPARK PLUG AND LEAVE PART OF THE SPARK PLUG IN THE CYLINDER HEAD. AFFECTED ENGINE BUILD DATES ARE AS FOLLOWS: 5.4L 3V AND 6.8L 3V BEFORE 10/9/07, 4.6L 3V BEFORE 11/30/07. The engine build date is on a sticker on the left valve cover.

I'm posting the highlights of the TSB:
DO NOT REMOVE PLUGS WHEN THE ENGINE IS WARM OR HOT. THE ENGINE MUST BE AT ROOM TEMPERATURE WHEN PERFORMING SPARK PLUG SERVICE. REMOVING THE SPARK PLUGS FROM A WARM/HOT ENGINE INCREASES THE CHANCE THE THREADS COULD BE DAMAGED
Back out the spark plugs no more than 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn. Using Motorcraft® Carburetor Tune-Up Cleaner, fill the spark plug well just above where the jamb nut hex sits (1/2 - 3/4 teaspoon). A minimum period of 15 minutes of soak time is required(I let them soak at least an hour). The cleaner will wick down to the ground electrode shield and soften the carbon deposits in this time. DO NOT WORK the spark plug back and forth at this point
NEW PLUGS SHOULD BE INSTALLED USING A FILM COATING OF MOTORCRAFT HIGH TEMPERATURE NICKEL ANTI-SEIZE LUBRICANT ON THE GROUND ELECTRODE SHIELD. DO NOT COAT THE ELECTRODE STRAP

Well, Ryan, Looks as though we are both right and wrong. Some 08's did come with the old style heads and after 10-29-07, the new ones.

Ya....i typed that wrong....i meant to say 08's built after but said 07's built after..... I just don't want anyone who's not needing them to go out and buy a set of champions thinking they'll do a preventative change and then be stuck with plugs that don't work for them..

The head is different too. the new style plug looks like a miniature plug kind of like waht some 4 wheelers run. Here is a pic F150online Forums - View Single Post - NewTSB on spark plug removal

I'd swap yours out for a set of champions......theres no guarantee that the anti seize is going to be a 100K mile fix......however champions will be

They're 1 piece plugs that won't break off when you go to change them in another 75-100K miles
