rear diff

how do you determin what diff you have based on the tag?

both on a 2006 ranger sport dif tag says v 330 v then on bottom 10 88 5k10

You have a 8.8 rear end.

But check the tag again. that 5k10 part can't be right. You don't have 5.10 gears...

The 5K10 is the build date. The 330 should be the ratio but I do not believe they made a 3.30. Look at the Vehicle Cert Label on the door and under AXLE there should be 2 Numbers/Letters. If you tell me what they are I can tell you what it is. It is probably a 95, 96, or 97. 95=3.55, 96=3.73, and 97=4.10 and all are Non LS. R5, R6, and R7 are the same, only LS.

its says 97 but whats the size 8.8 or 7.5

Since they never put a 7.5 in anything after about 89 or 90, it's probably an 8.8.

Not true. On the 2005's code 86=3.73 Non LS 7.5", 87=4.10 Non LS 7.5", and F6=3.73 LS 7.5"
