Luckily, it's not supposed to be too bad today, lower humidity and high in the upper 80's.

I think it just fried the fan motor. If I wasn't going on vacation next week, I would have taken the day off and fixed it myself.

I got the maintenance plan through NJNG, 50/year for each appliance covers parts and labor, so for 200 it covers both HVAC units and both condensers outside. I look at it like the cost of 1 service call and not having to take a day off to fix something.

yeah, I've kicked that idea around. I usually forget about it until something breaks, which isn't doing me a damn bit of good.

Howdy guys, hope the week treats everyone well... Friday is a holiday for me, woo hoo!

That stinks about the AC unit Pat.... do you have more than one unit, or does that unit take care of the entire house?

Cool! I hadn't thought of it that way, a week without a Monday is fine with me! "The Man" usually lets us out early on the day before a holiday weekend too, hopefully that will hold true on Thursday.

Morning Rob. We have two, one for the upstairs (which is the dead one) and one for the main floor and basement. I have the same days (4), but I work 8 hour shifts on holiday weeks, so I'll be out at 4 today.

I wish we had two AC units. In order to keep the main floor cool, the lower level turns into an ice-box!

get a new attic unit with a 2 stage blower... it really helped in our house... it allows us to run the blower without running the outside unit.. it has 2 speeds... 1 for circulation and 1 for when the units actually running... keeping the air circulating really helps even out the house.. my room went from constant 90-100 in the summers to being even with the rest of the house.. which atm is 69*

Morning Shawn. Rob, it does help. Just double the maintenance cost, though!
