2006 Escape interior noise

I have a 2006 escape and its extremely creaky inside. Always making noise over bumps and such. Im thinking its a loose pannel or something rubbing together. Seems to be comeing from around the rear drierside door.

Any known areas to look for? Something simple to tighten down?

Thanks

Same problem

Hello, i too have a 2006 escape and i am experiencing the same problems with the creaking, especially when going over uneven surfaces or even bumps. my sound seems to be coming from the rear hatch area. I had to tighten one of the brackets that goes through the rear glass and the gasket is completly worn out, wonder if that might be rubbing on the glass and causing that problem, wish someone would chime, im sure there are escape owners out there with the same noise.

hope to hear from someone soon, Phil

The rear hatch was a problem area on early Escapes so I'm surprised you are having problems on your 06. You might try wrapping the "latch" piece on the floor with some electrical tape and see if it makes a difference. I did it on my 02 and it made a difference.

Check out http://www.escape-city.com. Maybe some help can be found there. One of the members is a Ford tech. and has the TSBs, schematics, etc. Usually if you post up your problem, he will do some research to see if there are any similar issues, and a solution to help out the membership.
