lost in the excitment...9" goes in

So, I finially get some time to finish the seals and brakes ready to install my nine inch...I pull the 'ol 44 out and begin gettin the 9 off the saw horses I was using to clean it up, before install, I installed new extended Y hangers and greased the plugs...all excited now..I get the 9 on the floor level...funny how no ones around when you need them...I get situated...jack the new 9" into place...And I say to myself...why don't i have the right spring hangers? Months of planning this build, I forget to write down NEED SPRING hangers...for the newer guys, Dana's are 2 1/2 inch...9's are 3"...well needless to say, the shame hit me so i had to just use it as an excuse to quite for the day and sit back an glote, have a summer ale or 2...and look at my perfect 9 sitting there un attached

The 9" will still be there tomorrow, but the perfect Spring day may not be.

That's nature's way of telling you to stop and smell the roses.

I read enough posts here to know what I need to do the swap. I've been fortunate, I've had two F-2 parts trucks and the first thing I scoped out were the shock mounts. I now have a set for my panel and the panel I gave to my son. Now I just have to find a '9" for his truck.

The 9" I have is a 3:25, I hope it works good behind my stock flattie. I don't want a speed demon, only something I can get a little more high end speed out of. Right now the truck seems like it could use another gear.

From reading this thread I have come to a couple conclusions.
1: Mr. Mayo is in the same climate as me, since there's only been like 1 or 2 days above 60F, today being one of them, though windy, and enjoying the day became a priority for me as well.
2: I just remembered there's an F2 and F250 in the local JY and will need the shock brackets myself, and should cost less than $90. I just hope they're still there.

Yes, sir, this statement is so true. Stand back and enjoy the satisfaction of just being able to move that rear end into place all by yourself. You eared a few ale's, no doubt!
