'06, 6.0. no start
Have a '06, 6.0 at work that will not start. I guess it started hard yesterday, but they finally got it running. Turns over fine, fuses are good. Let the glow plug light go out and turn it over, it will burp but thats it won't actually fire. Drained water from lower fuel filter. Pulled lower filter, looks good. Can hear pump in tank running. Didn't check fuel filter on top yet. Any other ideas. Glow plug relay (couldn't find it)
Thanks

The STC fitting is just a connector between the High Pressure Oil Pump, and the oil rails to the injectors. The 6.0 injectors needs 500psi of oil pressure just to start, the HPOP builds that pressure, but if the fitting leaks bad, there is no way the truck will start. Oh, the HPOP is inside the engine, so the leak is an internal oil leak, not visible.
The ICP sensor is the Injector Control Pressure sensor, checking the high oil pressure, connected to the High Pressure Oil system, but it is located - on 05 and up - on the passenger side valve cover. You can disconnect and remove the sensor, grab an airhose, and blow the air in to the system, while you listening for leaks. INTERNAL leak we are talking about, so try to find a " quiet" place for it.
If that is the problem, and you are not familiar with the 6.0, I recommend to find a good technician, or if you are not afraid of dirty wrenches, spend some time here to get the info you need, and I'm pretty sue you could do it.

Thanks for the replies. My boss had the guy from the shop that works on our PSD stop by. I wasn't out there with him. But was told that he bled the fuel system on the top of the engine. It would start up but then die. Like it was sucking air. Guess going to tow it to his shop and let him take care of it.

You will get a Better response if you start your own thread on this
But yes a 06 moter will work in an 03
You will need a wire harness for an 06 though as some of the sensors have changed location from 03 to 06
Might also have to update the PCM and stuff like that IDK for shure
theres probably a little more to it but best to start a new thread if your going to do it

You need some gauges minimum if your going to play with a 6.0L
I doubt its a Fuel problem at all
more than likly a HPO problem
