ABS question

Well, good news is I used the search and found where to start looking. Bad news is I found the culprit. My ABS light came on coming home from work this AM, got rained out. Found the wire up against the inside of the tire, rubbed thru the insulation into the 2 wires. They're NOT rubbed through just enough to bare wires. Whats the fix? Can I buy just a new ABS cable? The knucklehead that replaced the front brakes last weekend didn't think to check after putting the front wheels back on. ( that would be ME!) Fortunately I got the pass. side before that side rubbed through. TIA Tim

Not exactly, it is the actual cable that is attached to that and connects behind the inner fenderwell. I wrapped it in electrical tape and the light has gone out, but I would eventually replace it. There are the brake line, ABS cable and one other clipped together, and it actually rubbed the inside of the tire about a foot above where it disappears into the back of the rotor/caliper. I was wondering if I could just buy the cable without buying a whole hub assy. attached to it, or some other silly thing I really don't need. Thanks for the reply.

For a temp repair you could just splice it and heat shrink it then wrap it with rescue tape.

Thats what I was thinking, just have to get some shrink tube. I wasn't sure if it was OK to cut and splice it though.
