I have been on FTE for a while over in the F350 area but I am picking up my "new" 74 bronco this weekend and wanted to introduce myself since I will be cruising around here too.
It's nothing to write home about but I am pretty excited to have something to build into a good DD and off-roader.
I hate to ask a real ******* question but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere. I see different broncos w/different rear fenders. Did all of those start off like mine and were just cut or was it part of a package from ford?
thanks
-Chris

They all started out as yours. It is called "uncut".
In order to get bigger tires and more flex the metal must be cut away.
Fiberglass flares are then rivited on to cover the cut edge. Some put flares on the front too.
"Uncut" Broncos are hard to find anymore, so depending on what you are doing with it and what condition the wheel areas are in, you may want to consider leaving your's intact.
Oh, and welcome to FTE.
We need to liven up this forum a little bit, so don't be afraid to post.

Thanks! I really enjoy FTE, there is a lot of know-how on here but this is my first time to venture into the bronco area.
After a little more searching I kept finding "uncut/cut" and I figured that was how it worked but just had to know for sure.
I have seen some SHARP looking rides that are cut but I am not sure if I am going to cut mine...I have seen some pretty good looking ones that are still uncut. I dont plan on turning it into some extreme-super-$$$$$-crawler-rig just something that looks sharp and can handle itself off-road.
Currently I am wheeling my 1-ton CC ford and I want something else to take a little of the wear and tear off her...hopefully i will be able to set her up like I want...all it takes is money
I wouldnt be suprised if I ended up very similar to this setup

I cant say for sure it I am not going to cut it, but I seriously doubt I will if it looks that sharp...especially if uncut broncos are more difficult to locate

Actually, its in better shape than my first impression. You can swap out the front diff for a Dana 44 pretty cheap. Should be able to find one reasonable($500 or under) The whole running gear is cheaper to deal with than rust repair. Enjoy, and check out Classicbroncos.com Lot of Bronco specific info and members close to you for maybe some hands on help.
Real nice starting point. It looks like it has the clasp that holds the spare tire rack to the side of the body. That's neat.
Don't worry about the Dana 30 front axle if it is going to be a DD. Just do the chevy disc brake swap to the 30 and when you do go to a 44 you can put the brakes on the 44.
Good luck and welcome. And yes classicbroncos.com as well es FTE.
