Yeah it's a sixer. It didn't tow bad. Found in in central Nebraska so I towed it home (Denver) about 450 miles. Big gooseneck behind powerstroke 250. Probably not the smartest thing I've ever done, but not the dumbest either.
If it'd had plates I could have put the F-250 in the back and drove it home. Lol...slim

Josh, What is that and what year?! nice

Plus, by the look of the wiper the windows are so clean you can't see them.

I honestly don't know how to tell the 38 39 trucks apart? if there is a difference?? it's either a 38 or 39 and the fact that its a COE makes me want it even more! 38 39's are fairly rare as is then this COE is here taunting me. plus the 48 fire truck across the street is calling me too many trucks not enough space, time, money, etc.....
If I had this COE It would be cool to put a flatbed/rollback on it to carry a model A roadster or similar on it, I dont think I would want to keep dumptruck bed on it??

HeIL at least covering the windows or putting a tarp over it would be taking lots better care of it than the current owners are!!! Thats It; I'm calling around again tomorrow to try and track down the owners again, this truck deserves a good home!! hey I can dream can't I??

Plan A: 1- Call and talk to owner.
Plan B: 1- Start walking past everyday with some tasty bacon for the dog.

LOL I like your style!

I call this street "Old truck Lane" there are at least 3 or 4 places that have old fords about and a few other yards with other old tin. http://images.ford-trucks.com/forums/images/smilies2/sign0101.gif

sorry, guess its time for some much needed sleep...

According to this HAMB thread it's a 40. I knew it wasn't a '38 because they had an oval badge where the "Ford" script is on the side covers. And according the guy on HAMB the 38 and 39 used the same grille. It has no center chrome strip. Stu

Good info, Thanks Truckdog;
I never realized the cabs were the same up to 47?? guess that helps with finding parts etc. but apparently the 38 39 40 grills are getting hard to find and Im not sure from my pictures but this one looks dented in at the bottom. (maybe fixable though?)
Cheers

If that winged gizmo at the top of the grille is in good shape, I'd bet you could eBay him and get back half your purchase price. Or at least a good chunk of it. Stu

I guess I don't have much choice but to tell you this, but a guy over on the Fordbarn posted a picture of this '40 COE and says he just bought it for $100!!! Here's the link to the thread.
