Did any other new Lightning owners notice that you didn't get the locking lug nuts promised to you in both the Lightning brochure and on the SVT website? (<a href="http://www2.ford.com/svt/showroom/lightning.asp">http://www2.ford.com/svt/showroom/lightning.asp</a>/) For your info, the wheels cost $450 each and the tires $300 each. Only non-decorative (black) locking lugnuts are available from Ford $34. They do not plan to make chrome ones, nor can I find them in the aftermarket. Please call "David" at Ford SVT (1-800-367-3788) and tell him you and every other new Lightning owner want their locking lugnuts. He doesn't seem to be concerned if we lose $3000 worth of wheels & tires. If enough of us call, they might remedy the problem. My 99 "Arrest Me Red Lightning" thanks you for your help.
Hey,
Where did you get yours? And what did you have to pay for it?
No dealers around here are selling, even if they have one, anywhere around sticker.
I'd like to know.
Thanks
I got mine at Joe Cotton Ford in Carol Stream, Il
I ordered it the first week in January and received it mid-may. I paid sticker price only, but it came minus the promised locking lugnuts!
Others, I've talked to also paid sticker only on ordered trucks. If you find one on a lot, expect to pay $2000 to $5000 over sticker as that is what the market will currently bear.
Ordered locking lugs for my 2000 Lightning on 2-13-2001. Hayward Ford Parts...cost some 50 or 60 bucks. I assume they are chrome, but will not know for another week to ten days. If they get this one right I will let you know.
Hiller Ford up here in Wisc is delling their remaining 2000 L's for 27,600, wheeling and dealin since they already have a Silver 2001 L on the lot, im suprised you waited for Joe Cotton when Victor Ford motorsports in wauconda probably had a few but maybe you wanted to save the loot
