4.0L Torque Converter. This a common problkem?

I'm hearing a noise from the torque converter area that sounds almost like a exhaust shield rattle. But, it's only noticable around 2200 + rpms or so or when giving it about 30%+ or more throttle. It goes away at higher rpms and also below 2200. If I put it in neutral and rev the engine to 2200, it won't make any noise, so I'm sure it tranny related. Is it possible that my fluid is low and causing the noise? Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated!

THANKS

I'd really check the exhaust heat shields first, as well as anything around the tranny to make sure just where the noise is coming from. Might even be a tranny cooler line that's rubbing against something.

I'd have to that no, it's not really common to get a noise like you describe out of the Tq. converter, and I'd think that if you did you'd likely have other symptoms as well, such as the engine revving higher to get moving or perhaps a surging while driving...can't say for sure, never really had one go bad on me, just had the tranny go out.
