Wink The simple things...

are actually not simple. I decided to replace the felts and anti-rattlers on my truck doors. I ordered the parts from NPD and started to it today.

First, it is not so easy to just unhook the window regulators, lower the glass and start removing stuff. Well actually that part is not bad, but trying to put all that stuff back together is harder than I though it would be. I finally got it done after a few hours of work. I would post some pics, but the doors really do not look any different. I am hoping there is a little less wind noise.

I've been off the forum a more than I like. I am putting in 12+ hour days at work. We have been really busy and now that we are being merged with a bigger company I am trying to keep my job. I just finished a big project and finally have time to relax for the long weekend.

How has everyone else been? What are you doing this long weekend? Has Dan done anything we can blame on him? Any ideas for get togethers?

I've been laying low. Just surviving so to speak. There's a big rig truck show in Galt this weekend, I think I'm going Saturday.
Just to irritate my neighbors, I punched holes in my mufflers so they get to wake up when I leave at 6am to work. It's a passive/aggressive payback to them complaining about our yapping chihuaua. There's 3 houses closer to me that are vacant, so nobody else to hear it. It sounds redneck loud, but it's ok for now.

Didn't do anything special for the long weekend because I had to work it. Still looking for a better job, because this place is still not able to get me any hours. Of course, it seems like everyone is in the same boat. too many peeps out of work, not enough jobs to go around.

It was a lot of work. The windows are getting easier to roll down and up though.

I did this about a year ago and it made a difference in the wind noise. However, every time you roll a window down it sounds like you just lit off a bottle rocket. I think it may have to do with the tint that's on the windows and the fact that it's stickier than glass is.

That said, it was still one of the best bang-for-the-buck projects I've undertaken.
