I know that you pull the Black/Pink wire on the left side of the column to silence the chime, but what are the steps to remove the plastic covering the column? I have never seen this covered in any of the threads.
I pulled the bottom of the dash, 2 bolts, and the plastic on the bottom of the column, 1 bolt. To reinstall the fit is really tight, do you have to remove anything else?
Wow, it just took a bit of force to slide it into position. All is well.
Try a search on this mod. A lot of info comes up, (nothing on the cover) some posts have pictures. I pulled the terminal and put a piece of heat shrink over it. It works great.
I just did this mod it is a pain to get that bottom plastic cover back on the column but well worth it now. I unhooked the harness then removed then where the terminal plugs in the top used an allen key to push the tab and pulled the whole terminal out to reinstall it if ever needed. Thanks for the wire color.
