New to site looking for 1944 model info

Hi Guys. I am new to the site and looking for information on a Ford truck I just purchased. Truck was registered as a 1944 model. Model # 21-3351, 158 inch wheelbase and paint code Special. Serial # 4641405. Probably built in Canada. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Great site by the way.

truckz - I'm a fellow newbee to this site, so I didn't see your first post. I don't know much about the Canadian built models, but you are probably right, as I believe the U.S. made trucks had no serial number in 1944, but were registered by engine number. Only U.S. models in '44 were the 1.5 ton, 158" wheelbase and a bus. What are your plans for your truck? Is it in pretty good shape? Where did you get it?

Prior to the use of VIN's, all vehicles were registered by the serial number, which was also the engine number.

Many of these no longer match because of engine swaps. When Ford dealers would install new engines, they would stamp the old number on the replaced block...but most engine changes were not done by dealers.
