Sweet new Z-bar

Just wanted to show you all the new Z-bar set up I just put in my truck. Mine was wore out and sloppy. Pivot tube and linkage is chrome moly, while instead of the traditional hook up points, it has sperical rod ends with great adjustment. It is super smooth and I love it! Ive got a picture of it in my gallery if you want to check out.

I got it from Barillaro Speed out of Knoxville, TN. They are die hard ford guys and excellent at metal fab. I think they have a web site you can google.

It's not the same shape (or part number) as 1968/72.

C6TZ7528G .. Equalizer Bar / Obsolete / No Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.

Fits: 1967 F100/350 / 1966 F100/250 2WD & 1966 F100 4WD after seriial number 830,001.

1965/66 F100/250 2WD, 1966 F100 4WD, and 1967/72 F100/350 use the same plastic bushings (2- C1AA7543A), felt washers (2- 358979S) and snap rings (2- 97474S).

Man, as similar as the 67-68's look to each other, they sure changed an awful lot between them!

1967/69 F100/350:

They may look the same, but as any owner of a 1967 knows...or will soon find out...they are not the same.

1967 only:

Grilles / Doors / Hood Emblems / Firewall / Dash / Instrument Cluster Bezel / Brake Differential Proportioning Valve / Low Brake Fluid Warning Light Switch / Radio / Heater / Brake & Clutch Pedals...and...the bracket under the dash they hang from.

Some parts of the clutch linkage is also 1967 only.

There's prolly more stuff that's different...what I just typed is "off the cuff."

1967 doors: The glass, upper and lower hinges, division bars, vent frames and the weatherstrips are the same as 1968/72, NOTHING else is.

That's why I've been contemplating switching cabs, if I come across a decent one, to a later year.

Considering the mechanical differences, you'll need more than just the cab.

1968/72 doors (which have lock *****) will bolt right on in place of the 1967 doors, as the hinges are the same. While the latches are different, the striker plates (on the B Pillar) are the same.

Waltz on out here to LA LA Land, where rust free sheetmetal is a DIME a DOZEN!

Last June, I went scrounging with FTE member camperspecial65 (Don) to a local LA wrecking yard LOADED with 1961 and newer....rust free sheetmetal.

Don was amazed at all the rust free sheetmetal this yard has.

I've been "hitting" this yard since 1967, but had never paid the slightest attention to this used stuff, because out here....the demand is...as they say in Southern Russia....Slimski & Noneski.

Anyway...when was the last time you found 1967/79 MINT crew cab rear doors in a yard? How many do you want?

How many front doors do you want for 1961/79's? There are over 100!

Fenders? Dozens. This is a dis-mantlers yard, so they saved everything.

btw: No 1979 or earlier tailgates. These are hard to find...even in SoCal...because they are EZ to steal.

Yeah, I'd probably change the whole thing Bill, I'd like to have the updated doors and cab. I'd love to come out that way. Just have to plan it around a family vacation, it's an awful long way from Omaha!!
