Everything I have read has said DOHC 4v too. Fine by me. I think there's a just a bunch of people that wish it will be a push rod so it would be easier to mod like the "good 'ol days".

Well Ford has stated 5.0 will be "premium" offering over eccoboost so I would then expect @ 400 for this unit given 355hp is std on EB... 6.2 my only be @ 400-425 but with serious tq/pulling advantage.

Do you have a source for this? I thought it was the other way around.
My understanding is that the EB 3.5 could be turned way up in RWD applications. Its limited in FWD?/AWD applications due to the drivetrain not being able to handle anymore.

I keep hearing the 5L will be around 350/380 in the F150 and possibly 400/360 in the Mustang. But who knows at this point. Ford has done a good job keeping the lid on this for sure.

I hope they wait a few years to put it in the F 150. If it goes in soon I may experience some buyers remorse.

These are exactly the reasons why I waited. New engines and some upgrades fro the 2010.

I don't see any new engines for 2010, unless you want a Rapture. There are a couple of new upgrades I like but not worth giving up my White Sand color, which will be gone.

I say 2010, I'm actually pulling the trigger in late 2010 or early 2011. I'm just not the kind of guy that buys in the first year anymore.

I bought a '95 T-bird with a pearl paint job on it. It was the first year that this painting technique and color were available as it was told to me by the dealer. The went bad within 4 months and it took two years to get it right.

I would say your patience will pay off in 2011; with the introduction of new engines. As far as the White Sand paint, it's been around for at least 2-3 years on many Ford vehicles, not worried about matching it if need to be.

Well now you got me questioning myself. Maybe it was the other way around? Have to wait and see. Unless someone with lots of time finds the quote...

I can't see this horsepower war continuing between the manufacturers with the latest news from the Obama administration concerning new stricter emissions and fuel economy goals to be implemented by 2016 and starting in 2012 phasing it in.

500hp 6.2L is for the Raptor only.
The regular F150 is supposed to get a 400hp-400lb/ft version of the 6.2L.
The 5.0 will not have the same ratings here. In Aussie land, sure, won't fly here due to the EPA restrictions.
The Ecoboost is supposed to be around 350hp 350lb/ft.

As usual the Aussies get all the good stuff. But then they ony have 21.5M people in a land about 60% the size of lower 48 and no EPA to whine about things. Actually, I'd like to see 400 to 450 lbs./ft. of torque with about 350 hp. that would get 11 mpg pulling my car hauler and 19-20 mpg empty and I'd be a happy camper. I'd prefer it be a pushrod engine just because it's easier to work on. Since I do most of my own work and I'm at the age that the body isn't as flexible as it once was, ease of working on them is very important to me. If I had to have my work done it would still be a priority since lower flat rate times equall lower laber charges.
