nice CL find
i've been needing some summer tires/wheels since i cant drive my f-250 right now due to the fact it still has its studded tires on and its a $200 ticket if you are cought..ontop of wearing them down.
sooo..i've been searching for awhile..i wanted cheap..but alum wheels and decent tires.
i picked these up yesterday for $200!! alum wheels in need of some good polishing..but they will clean up..and almost brand new tires!!!
i need to buy some smaller lugnuts to fit the wheels then i can install them for good..pics to come of them all mounted...but i thought i'd share my little find..i thought i did pretty good?

ok, $129 in new lugnuts later they are mounted. the wheels are going to take alot more work then i thought..but i still have faith that they will look much better then they do now.
the tires are nice, no real road noise and they work well in the dirt..i think this was a great buy..plus once the wheels are cleaned up and i find some center caps they should add some looks to the truck also.
Before: winter steel wheels/hub caps(which i like!)
After: summer wheels/tires
driveway shot, and thats not all of them

I start off first saying , in order to get studs in tires you have to have tires that are studdable. A studable tire has little holes in the tread that will accept metal "studs". they get much better traction on ice and hard packed snow. Typically the can only be run from nov to april due to the metal eats up asphault
Here are some
O thats right, you need stupid photobucket

theres no stupid question, up here and in many nothern states studded tires are allowed in the winter months. they improve your traction greatly on snow/ice. since i plow snow with my f-250 i get some intersting steep driveways and i've slid off a few before. i also add about 700LBS to the bed in the winter.
and here in anchorage, studds are allowed from october(maybe september) - may as we can get snow early and late. they are hard on the roads and eat them up, thus they are illegal during the summer plud that would wear them down very fast.
heres some pics of the winter set-up

Oh, thanks for showing me what studded tires are, those are pretty rare here in Texas. I did recognize the weight setup in the bed, except any time we get snow I generally just throw in whatever looks heavy thats lying around (generally front weights off of a John Deere 4440, they are 125 lbs each.), we don't get serious enough to get actual sand bags
