DIY High Performance Injector Rebuild Kits

Has anyone had success with these? Any Pros, Cons? Could anyone answer the following questions?:

1. Easy to rebuild?
2. Any noticeable power gains?

You might try asking down in the OBS section. Lots of guys there swear by Jim's stuff, and many have done the rebuilds using his kits.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I am also thinking of upgrading the turbo system to a late 99+ with a highlow turbo (yet to be determined) and putting in a high pressure HPOP.

Then you'll need to upgrade the intake plenums and Y pipe I do believe. Dieselsite has the new adreniline pump, and Terminatorengineering has the modified 17 deg pump, both of which would be an upgrade over the 99.5 pump, so you might as well leapfrog the late 99 pump and go for even more. Then you can ditch the Superchips for one of the more favored ones and see what the truck really has to offer.

Yeah, just wondering if those DIY performance injector kits are worth it. The cost savings is like $1,000!

If I could find a cheap set of cores, I would consider rebuilding them into hybrids.

I have seen/read of DIY injector rebuild horror stories, and the opposite. Mostly horror. I will get around to my hybrid injector post based on my conversation with Bob from Dieselsite while I was at TS Outlaw eventually. Not tonight. I need to gather info.

I would be curious for more information on this topic. Any member that goes through this should do a write up as well.

For those with the bad experiences, what were the reasons? Part failures or incorrect assembly?

It is going to be hard to know what the real problem is because most people haven't done them before, might not realize they are at fault, or not want to take the responsibility of incorrect assembly.
