Converting 2wd C-6auto to a 4wd slushbox

Well, my tranny is toast in my truck, but I have a 2wd C-6 in a 1978 E-150 that is good. Is there any way to conver the 2wd to work for a 4wd? Is it just a change in the tail housings.

Thanks ya'll

The output shaft from a 4x4 C6 will have to be installed in the 2WD C6. That means a complete disassembly to get to the snap ring holding the shaft to the output shaft hub.

I had this done... when I swapped my 460 into my 1984 Bronco.. I just brought my 1969 T-bird 2wd C-6 and the 351W C-6 down to my shop... I needed a rebuild anyway so I had it done!

I also had the AOD 1st/2nd gearset installed into the C-6. The thing pulls nicely, well there is a 460 under the hood
