Manuals for 1997 E Super Duty
I've been looking for shop & parts manuals for my 1997 BornFree motorhome, built on a 1997 Powerstroke E Super Duty (commercial?) chassis (duallies, 4-wheel disc brakes, 14,050# GVWR). Not having alot of luck here. E350 and also later Super Duty (either E or F) manuals are out there, not so far 1997 "E Super Duty" (says that right on the fender, VIN# 1FDLE40F*VHA*4602) manuals. Anyone know where I could get preferably factory, but take anything shop & parts manuals for this chassis? Thanks, Wil

Its an E450 yet most of the parts are found as E350. There are a few things that won't match up such as air intakes and shifter cables. The starters are the same but the OEM E450 starter is a much stouter unit. I have learned to check Ford parts and IH (t444e) before I buy anything at Napa. I've had to return some things when I bought a new part, it didn't match the old one when I pulled it out so I went to Ford and checked their parts system.
Napa Auto Parts does not carry anything above E350 yet things like fuel filters, oil filters and such fit just fine or match the OEM.
As I understand it from the old timers at Kearny Mesa Ford here in San Diego, the E Super Duty morphed into two E series - the E450 and the E350.
When I had the rear spring center pins replaced it was all (E450) parts and I know because the prices made me sit up and take notice. Same with the turbo.
If you are wondering how much I know, it is a joke at KM Ford that I have bought a new truck - one part at a time. About the only thing I haven't worked on is the flywheel.

That's good info, thanks. Does your truck say E Super Duty on the front fender? Is it a 14,050# or thereabouts GVWR?
I have a '95 F350 PSD that I work on and understand what you mean about the T444E engine. I always go to the International dealer before Ford. I put an updated fuel bowl heater in my F350 PSD engine, it was $46.00 at Int., $150.00!! at the Ford dealer. Installed a Tymar intake on it, gotta still do the Tymar 3.5"/4.0" exhaust setup.
So, looks like my search for manuals will not be a straight-forward one. I guess I should look for either E450 or F450 shop/parts manuals, huh?
