custom exhaust
i have a 1994 f150, im about to put a 5.0 in, m5od tranny, 4x2. im looking to get some really loud true dual exhaust, meaning headers, h pipes, high flow cats, and straight pass through mufflers. my questions are:
1. Will long tube headers work with h pipes?
2. Do they make h pipes for f150's?
3. Can I make the pipes exit in front of each of the rear wheels?

i dont think they make an h pipe specifically for our trucks but you can get a summit universal one and just size it up and weld it in, longtubes will work fine with h pipes physically.
my personal opinion, i think high flow cats and glasspacks sounds real good. if you dont have emissions testing i would remove the cats and use something like a flowmaster muffler behind it, i like the catless sound with flowmasters.
you can make them exit wherever you would like.

You can have an H or X pipe made to work. The side gas tank is in the way to run the exhaust in front of the rear tires. But you can run it to the passenger side in front of the tire. The side has tank really gets in the way for running exhaust. It would have to be ran down the passenger side.

Yes with out the front tank theres plenty of room for duals & h pipe . I removed my side tank to . With the tank it makes it hard . You have to go down the one side then you can turn them out . Custom exhaust from the headers back is best . A good muffler shop can bend the pipes & make a nice job out of it for not to much . Lew

It may be pointless to put an H-pipe on one of our trucks though. To really get the performance increase and scavenging effect out of an H-pipe it needs to be at a certain distance from the collectors and it's needs to be equal on both sides.
This can be difficult to do on a 4WD dual gas tank rig. But I suppose if you remove the side tank it's possible, or if you just want the sound then go for it. And if you still want all that gas; and money ain't a problem, you could pick up a 40-44 gal tank for the rear.

Why do you want long tubes anyway.Just buy shorties, connect to your stock Y pipe and be done w it
And this will save you from buying 2 cats and 2 mufflers
