EGR and Cooler replaced - What else?

Need some help. I just took the truck in as it was running bad and the check engine light came on. Bad EGR valve. They replaced it and went on my way. Then started it up the next day and TONS of white smoke. Called and they said that the cooler might be bad now. Parked it at daycare and came out and there was a river of black fluid. Took it back to dealer and turned out to be antifreeze coming out of the muffler.

They are replacing the EGR cooler an EGR valve. With that much antifreeze coming through the system, should anything else be looked at. There was a ton of smoke and anitfreeze coming out.

HEAD GASKET!! My truck was just in the shop 2 weeks ago for the same exact thing, The EGR cooling is a bad designs for these trucks..the cooler clogs with soo which causes the radiator to heat and bubble back thru the fill bottle then POOF there goes a head gasket. There is a EGR delet mod that can be done that gets rid of the cooler and will eliminate this problem. I have my kit on order and am waiting it's arrival.

Oh yeah..if they do tell you it needs a head gasket also..some dealerships like to take the cab off to get to everything..so if you have any wires comming from the cab to the frame that you installed...they'll probably just cut them and tape them back together like they did me. If you have running boards..make sure they put ALL the bolts back in them if they decide to remove them.

You do need to remove the cab to change the head gaskets. The wiring harness is connectorized so nothing should be cut.

I think he meant if you had accessory wires coming out of the cab. Some guys take the motor out to pull the heads. It is possible to do them in the truck, but it's not fun.
