Dropped Tie Rod Ends

Hi, has anyone used the dropped ends from Speedway. They look like a square tie rod end hollowed out to accept the current end into it and then fasten to the steering arm. I would prefer them over the other type I have seen at CCP. Just wondering if they are safe. I installed a 3" CCP dropped axle and am currently having issues with the rod and springs. Just curious if anyone has them and are happy with them or have they made things worse for you. Thanks again.

If you are refering to the "C" style extenders I'm currently using them, the only issue I've had was they were loose when I went to get an alignment don't know if the guy before him didn't tighten them or what other than that they are working out fine, I would recommend some heavy duty anti-seize for the threads to keep them from backing out. What issues are you having with your springs I have originals and haven't had any issues.

I installed a 3" drop axle and also took a few leafs out of the springs. I just need to drop them a couple of inches. Not sure if I am going to put some of the leafs back in or not. I have the engine out so I am not sure how much more it will drop after I install it. I have also heard of heating and bending the steering arms. I am not sure I want to do that but I am also unsure of the tie rod drops also.

I'd go with the "C" style extenders Jaye is talking about from CPP and avoid heating and bending the tie rod arms. I have a set of the extenders that I got for a different project that I'm not going use so if you're interested just drop me a PM and I'm sure we can work something out.

I would be careful removing leaves from the front, especially if you have a big block it looks cool and is a cheap way to get the front really low but think of the strength of the front suspension however, this is just my opinion I like to play it safe I have mine on the freeway running 70-80 mph can't have the front sagging or collasping at that speed...
