That sounds like the Traction Control kicking in.

When it's rainy or very humid and you run full throttle/high rpm/boost/100% engine load, the motor does something that makes it stutter. Very pronounced and easily reproduced at will if you have a heavy trailer behind you. I've messed with it a lot to try to either blow it up or make something happen so I can get it fixed.

Never causes a permanent problem, just something to do with wet air I think.

If you have a hefty trailer (like 14K or something) you will also feel a shudder when jumping off from a stop and you run wide open. Unrelated to moisture, just the power working its way through the torque converter and transmission. My opinion anyway....

I am getting the impression that the stutter some people experience when it is wet/real humid may be related to the design of the air intake. The design may not allow the moisture to dissapate before it reaches the air filter, causing the stumble.

Just my thoughts. So I wonder if you were to take it off and put some drainage holes would that help?

Also a factor is the volume of air required, these motors are like a giant vacumn when it comes to the amount of air required.

What is wierd as I have never had that issue at all. Either with the stock filter (ran that for 11,000 miles) or the Banks that I have had one for the last 6,000 miles.

Do experience a slight driveline shudder when pulling heavy from a stop. Doesn't really bother and only lasts briefly till I get moving.

No traction control on this beast.
Had this happen more than once, latest this past saturday pulling a small enclosed trailer. Raining like hell out and mashed down on throttle to pass some cars on the interstate and just plain fell flat on it's face, coughing and sputtering.
Senix , I agree with you, I think it sucking water into the filter housing. Same as the problem with snow and iced up air filters, only now water is passing the filter into the engine.

That has to be the charge air cooler in front of the radiator, mine's already been replaced once. don't see how that would correct this problem unless it leaks and you would be losing boost , which i'm not.
