new guy
Hi I am a new guy here on the forum and I drive an 05 F150 with the 4.6. The truck has 16000+ on it and just today it started missing losing power. I suspect the coil packs or plugs or both. Does the 05 4.6 have the cop's? what is the best way to check? Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated. Thanks,
Chris

Bad coils or plugs at 16,000 miles! or did you mean 160,000 miles? Scan it, with that little miles you more than likely have some mice living in one of the cylinder heads, LOL.
With that low of miles have you checked the fuel filter? How old is the gas in the tank? I usually put that many miles on in 3 months!

Had that happen to me last week this was my post
Wed. truck runs great parked for night,Thu.am fire it up runs like crap wont rev up going down the road less than 20 klm. no power, must be the limp mode.Dealer close to home got it there. showed a # of codes 1 was for Throttle body, put new on still codes, checked wire & pugs found dead wire,
Piggy back it from computer plug to TB. ok Then he saw pieces of bread on valve cover, said you have furry friends.Truck tested Ok.
Got home looked under hood noticed a piece of the plastic covering from wires sticking up near where the bread was found, upon closer look noticed some bare wire then saw the teeth marks where they had chewed wires was well. Will need to go and get them fixed fri. am $ 650.00 repair not under warranty
So be aware strange **** happens.

Well the code came up as #6 cylinder misfire, I changed the coil and plug (the plug looked pretty bad, will change the rest this weekend) and it runs fine now. Just like the decripitions i read about in some other posts about changing sparkplugs and cop's, that helpe a bunch, thanks to everyone.
