Surging Carb.

HI All, I have a 82 / 84/ 86 ford F-350 with a 460 4X4 auto. The reason for the many years is the fact that it is made from more than one truck.
Anyway, the chassis and drive line is 1984.
The motor is a 460 with a 600 cmf Holley carb and the factory wireing for the 460. As I drive at higher speeds and at strange times, the truck will surge badly. Enough to give you wip lash! If I back off the gas, most times it will clear up. The problem is to know where to start looking. I have replaced the fuel pumps with on frame units as the tanks are 1982 replacements. I have also replaced the fuel relay.
Where do I start? I do not hear the pumps starving and I believe this is a fuel problem. Coould the oil pressure switch have a problem?
Thanks
Ken

I would tee in a pressure guage on the fuel line and tape it to the windshield, just to make sure it's a fuel delivery problem.
