49 side window install

The side window in my pickup fell out of its track. I have gotten around to taking apart the side panels so that the window regulator and glass is exposed.

My question is: Is there anything that holds the window in place? Do I use window tape? or some other type of adhesive to hold the window on the track? I did not notice a clamp or anything to hold the window in track. I am just trying to prevent this issue from re-occuring.

Any other tips to placing the window back in the track?

Also, if someone has a manual and could post images/text of the install that would be much appreciated.

Thanks for your time,
Chris

Welcome to this forum Chris!

I am afraid that I cannot answer your question, but I am interested in the answer... the windows in my truck rattle a lot and I think that is something that I need to take care of soon.

I am sure that someone that knows the answer will be along shortly.

The widow is held into the track with a tape for the purpose, you should be able to get some from a local auto glass installer or any other type of glass company.

There are anti-rattler kits reproduced, check any of the reproduction parts site like Mac's. www.macsauto.com, Dennis Carpenter, www.dennis-carpenter.com, or LMC, www.lmctrucks.com. There are others that sell the too. Check the sponsors of this site, they're listed on the left side of this page.

Here is the installation instructions from the shop manual:
