Yes there are a some 7.3 with twins, but they are not very common.. I would have to call BS until I saw the engine compartment.

What is the point of a twin turbo set-up on a 7.3? I did not think the engine would be able to really utilize a big twin set-up???

Most common setup for diesels is a compound turbo setup rather than true twins. Most people still refer to compounds as twins anyway, so it's just splitting hairs really.

The new 6.4L's run a compound setup right out of the factory.

Compounds mean you have a large primary charger for boost on the top end, and a smaller secondary charger for boost on the bottom end. This allows you to have a high hp diesel that is also streetable and has better response on the bottom end. Typically, big hp diesels with a single charger are difficult to drive on the street, since the large single turbo is usually very laggy on the bottom end.

If I were you, I'd ask to see under the hood of the truck in question. There are a few PSD's running around with compounds, but not many. The ones that do are VERY fun to ride in. So if your neighbor isn't BS'ing you, see if you can go for a ride-a-long. Assuming you don't crap your pants, it should be a fun ride.

Yes I saw that, and personally can't believe he's just running one filter regardless of the type. Looks like he's already way past the point of trying to fit things under the hood.

Got any pictures of the exhaust side of the turbo's Ron? Seems like there would be some awfully big lag there if the up pipes still connect to the regular turbo location. Of course when the exhaust finally made it's way to the top turbo, it would be time to hold on.

Ron, that video was INSANE! I'm not much for burning rubber, these tires are so dang expensive, but I guess if you've got the money to invest $10k in go-fast truck parts, you can buy a few new sets of tires.

Anthony (Hotstik) over on the Nation has twins on his rig.

Back in January, when Jody was live tuning the truck at JW's place in Holtville, Anthony's truck had so much power it would break traction on the rollers. His truck was doing burnouts on the dyno.

It was sick!
