Dom DiMaggio Dies

Red Saawx legend Dom DiMaggio...one of three DiMaggio brothers to play in the major leagues...passed away this morning at his home. He was 92 years old.

He was a 7 time all star and still holds the Saawx record for consecutive game hit streak with 34.

I'll always remember him as a consumate gentleman. RIP Dominic!!!

I saw that in the news today also..

I am to young to have seen him play, but from what I have read and seen over the years, he was quite the ball player.. To bad his career got overshadowed by his brother.. RIP

His Saawx career was over the year before I was born. My recollections of him were from archival footage and interviews that I saw. I believe it was Yogi Berra who said something to the effect that Joe DiMaggio was the best centerfielder he ever saw...with the possible exception of his brother Dom.
