93 5.0 dumping fuel and starting issues!!!
I got a 93 f-150 4x4 with a 5.0.. For some reason when the truck first starts up in the mourning it starts fine.. But if I shut it off and try starting it again it doesnt want to start. I have to put the gas peddle all the way to the floor to get it to start. And sometimes that doesnt even work.. Ive replaces the fuel pump, Fuel filter, and fuel regulator but none of these seem to improve it.. Im getting 36lbs of fuel pressure and the truck calls for 39 so I dont think that seems to be the problem.. Im stumped on what it could be.. So if anyone has any ideas please let me know.. Thank you!!!

Subford- I've been reading this message with interest as I have the identical problems as KitchenBPI. I was trying to sort out the CEL codes and I did have 118 show up. My question is that I don't have have the check engine light come on at all, but that code was there and I have these same issues. Should I not be having the CEL come on because of the fault? I was reading last night how to check the ECT so it should be easy to check. My symptoms : Starts fine when cold. When warm I have to give full throttle to start. Then runs fine.

This could be from a bad ECT sensor, Air Charge Sensor, TP sensor or a bad fuel pressure regulator (pull the vacuum hose off to test and if there is any fuel it is bad).
118 is the ECT sensor so that more than likely is your problem.

Just to let you know that my problems were the ETC sensor. Runs like a dream now. When I was testing the old one I could take it from cold water and run it under the hot water tap and as it warmed up the resistance started jumping all over the place instead of a smooth transition. I tested my new one before installation and it had a smooth transition.
