Saddle Leather Interior

Not quite there with my project but already dreaming/planning interior.

I've always wanted to have a truck with true saddle leather interior. Has anyone every done this or know what it would cost to have a bench seat done in saddle leather? I was also thinking about putting it over the side panels but mostly concerned about the bench.

The King-ranch is the closest I've seen and I'd be fine with that but even that isn't as thick as real saddle leather i don't think.

I've never thought of saddles as particularly comfortable compared to most automotive seats. The king ranch seats are pretty hard wearing, and would cost a small fortune to buy from ford, probably $3-4k for the upper and lower parts of a bench. Check companies such as Katzkins for leather cover replacements. If you go custom, be aware that saddle leather takes a stout sowing machine and even upholstery shops may not have a bad enough one.

Look, see these two tow hooks? They look like tusks. And what kind of animal has tusks?

Anyone else have any input on this? Truck is getting closer and closer to the interior stage.
Has anyone ever seen a vehicle interior done in true saddle leather?

Have you asked any upholstery shops about using thick leather? That's where I would start.
